Established in 1992 the Förderverein ‘Max Pechstein’ – Kunstsammlungen Zwickau e.V. supports the activities of the KUNSTSAMMLUNGEN ZWICKAU Max-Pechstein-Museum and selected projects ranging from tradition to modernity and contemporary. This commitment is meant to support maintenance, preservation and expansion of the museum holdings as well as its research and public presentation. The association especially focuses on imparting and promoting the artwork of the Zwickau artist Max Pechstein (1881–1955) and thus contributing substantially to the cultural profile of Zwickau.
Being a member of this association includes invitations to all temporary exhibitions and events taking place at the KUNSTSAMMLUNGEN ZWICKAU Max-Pechstein-Museum, including exclusive previews and museum tours. Each member is given the opportunity to inform about projects based on donations and membership fees in detail once a year; furthermore it is possible to have an exclusive look at new acquisitions sponsored by the Förderverein.
